This pond has a capacity of 1150 water litres.

The first step is to draw the pond shape. In the following drawings we can see the pond dimension in millimeters. Is very important to draw it in a drawing that shows all the garden areas.

The red line represent the electric line that supply electric energy to the pump and UV filter pond.
On the grass we draw the pond shape, this draw is performed with flour or another ecologic powder and following the computer drawing data. To maintain this draw several days is neccessary to hammer in a plastic hose on the flour line. Finally we starts the pond excavation.
The pond excavation will be performed in a stepped form. In this moment is possible to delete the plastic hose used to maintain the grass pond draw. This pond was excavated to a maximum deep of 70 cm (27,5 inch.).
Also is neccessary to delete all the stones and to smooth, as to be required, the excavation surfaces that can impair the PVC sheet that will cover all the pond excavation areas.
Before to install the PVC sheet, is neccesary to cover with sand all the pond excavation areas.
PVC sheet initial location.
In this moment is supplied water on the PVC sheet. The water weight will produce the adaptation of the PVC sheet to the excavation areas.
Now the pond is almost filled and is the moment to remove the stones that maintains tight the PVC sheet diring the water filled.
When the pond is water full filled, can be removed some PVC sheet excess.
Two days will be maintained the water on the PVC sheet to obtain the final and perfect adaptation of the PVC sheet to the excavation areas and also to check absence of water leaks due to punctures in PVC sheet. Ending this step successfully, we will start the pond crowning point.
This is the final of the pond crowning point. Finally, we added concrete between stone and stone to increase rigidity.
Now we can remove all the rest of PVC sheet excess. We can also to dcor the pond. We explain now the filters installation.
This is the installation of the piping and filters used to the water processing. All of them is assembled on a slab.

The biological filter is a Tetra Pond PF 4000 (this filter can be used in ponds up to 4000 liters).
In this photograph can be see the biological and UV filters and also the electric connexion box for the UV filter and the pump pond.
The home hand made metallic support is used as support of the electric connexion box.

The UV filter is a Tetra Pond UV 3000 (this filter can be used in ponds up to 3000 liters).
The pond pump is under the water and impel the water as show in the photo.

The pump is used for powering both a fountain and water feature.
The pond pump is on a support home manufactured and made of PVC piping, PVC glue and a heat gun.
Matters to take into account: (only applicable to this pond size)

- Each day (summer time only) the pond evaporates between 20 and 35 of water liters.
- Before to added water to the pond is neccesary that is maintained in a tank during 48 hours to be evaporate the clorine.
- In accordance with the user manual is neccesary to clean the pump filter.

As you can see in this photo is interesting to use vegetables to camoufflage the filters.
